ODBC Connector for ORACLE

Click Add…

Select Oracle related driver, in my case ‘Oracle in XE’  Then click ‘Finish’, then it opens Oracle ODBC Driver Configuration as follows..

Data Source Name: Some custom name that we want to define.

Description: Just description of custom name.

TNS Service Name: TNS Service Name that we fine in the following path( in my case it is for Oracle 11g Express edition) :      C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\11.2.0\server\network\ADMIN\tnsnames.ora

User ID: User ID that is created to access the Oracle database (Ex: INUSER01 that I created to access Oracle database)

Install ODBC Drivers:

Microsoft Data Access Component (MDAC\WDAC)

ODBCAD32.exe : (ODBC Administrator) : ODBCAD32 component is part of MDAC\WDAC (Microsoft\Windows Data Access Components ) will install the ODBC drivers.
ODBCCONF.exe:(ODBC Driver Configuration Program) :will uninstall the ODBC Drivers.
Note:  A 64-bit version of the Microsoft Windows operating system includes the following versions of the Microsoft Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) Data Source Administrator tool (Odbcad32.exe):
The 32-bit version of the Odbcad32.exe file is located in the %systemdrive%\Windows\SysWoW64 folder.
The 64-bit version of the Odbcad32.exe file is located in the %systemdrive%\Windows\System32 folder.

In case after closing the ODBC window, and open the ODBC window again, and loose the drivers? then change the target  (hope u have administrative rights)





























note:  %windir% = C:\Windows

%windir%\system32\odbcad32.exe
(to)
%windir%\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe

I did not work around but I just continued with the installation.
